Strategy & Policy
Strategy is the long-term direction and delineation of an organisation’s activities. Through the adequate deployment of strategic resources (resources), the organisation meets the needs of markets and expectations of stakeholders (stakeholders) in a changing environment.
A strategy is built around vision, mission and goals and arises from the consideration of strategic options that are translated into goals to be achieved. In this 4-day Masterclass, we will work with different views on strategic management, apply strategy formation and implementation in practice, analyse the external and internal environment, weigh up strategic choices and argue
and develop and formulate a strategy for the organisation to achieve the desired organisational goals. (E&C)

About the course
A strategy is built around vision, mission and goals and arises from the consideration of strategic options converted to goals to be achieved. This involves strategic dilemmas. On the one hand, the environment is becoming increasingly complex and, on the other, the diversity of organisations makes it difficult to develop a ready-made strategic course. It is of great importance that the strategy followed
seamlessly matches the organisation’s capabilities and opportunities. This module focuses on how organisations can develop and implement their strategy in order to improve, perpetuate or cost-effectively downsize their (market) position.
The Strategy & Policy module, an integral module in NLBA’s master’s programme, provides students with thinking on organisational strategy development, strategy formulation and policy making. In addition, it covers a range of strategic models and tools (tools) to analyse the external environment and the internal business situation and visualise strategic dilemmas. The emphasis is on step-by-step analysis to arrive at sound decision-making regarding the organisation’s strategic direction (what is the goal and how do we get there).
Assessment
The practice-oriented nature of the Masterclass is characterised by assessment through the writing of a research paper. In addition, the teacher may request presentations and/or additional assignments. In order to conduct thorough research, a digital session on Research Methods & Techniques is part of the Master class.
