Organisations benefit from vital employees and high-performing teams. Vital leadership plays a key role in this, making it crucial to an organisation’s health and success. Vitality, according to a commonly used definition, is employees who are energetic, resilient, fit and can keep working with great perseverance.
Vitality, in turn, is inextricably linked to sustainable employability which includes an employee’s working ability and employability in addition to vitality. Managers play an important role when it comes to managing, supporting and inspiring teams and employees in this. But how do you do that? How do you ensure that the team is and remains vital, that employee engagement is high and that employees remain sustainably employable? These questions and more are answered in the Vitality module, which is built on current scientific knowledge, models and methodologies. It touches various fields of science around work and organisational psychology, energy management, sociology and leadership.

About the programme
The fields around vitality such as Human Resources, health & safety management and the (para)medical fields are constantly evolving and there is a movement where curation is increasingly giving way to prevention and amplification (van Vuuren). This means an increasing focus on absence prevention and increasing sustainable employability by exploring growth and development opportunities. Vital leadership focuses on the above, it is a way of leadership that helps to bring out the best in people and teams. Not in the first place, only by leading by example will the leader be able to get his or her team moving. ‘Lead by example’ will therefore characterise a vital leader.
After this module, the participant will have:
- Knowledge and insight in the field of personal energy management;
- The latest scientific insights in the field of sleep, nutrition and exercise;
- Knowledge and insight into factors that ensure good team energy;
- Learned to use validated measuring instruments to measure personal vitality as well as vitality in teams;
- Identify early stressors and problems within a department or team and increase your team’s resilience;
- Does the student have the knowledge and methodologies to apply vitality interventions;
- Has the student discovered how to stimulate employee engagement;
- Does the student know how to promote employee vitality by looking at o. a.o. opportunities in training, task enrichment or broadening.
Literature
Dutch and English literature is used for all modules. All lessons are taught in Dutch.

Location
The Vitality Masterclass takes place in Arnhem. It is also possible to offer a Masterclass as in-company training (from 6 participants upwards), if desired at the participants’ premises. Please contact us for in-company programmes.

The Master Class is part of an NVAO-accredited Master. The program is concluded with a Master Class certificate and accompanying silver Edu badge including entry in the register.
