Financial Controller

The financial controller plays an active role in monitoring corporate objectives and improving business processes. Information provision is a key item here; financially but especially also in the non-financial field.

It is important to recognize the correct processes that form the basis for the steering information to be delivered. To gain insight into this, it is important to have knowledge of the various management areas and to understand the mutual cohesion. This post-bachelor financial controller course takes you into this thinking process.

You will also be trained in your own field. The focus is then on complicated integrated issues that play a higher role in an organization.

The Post-graduate for the financial controller covers all first-year courses for the Master Finance and Control. It’s a stand-alone programme covering all financial subjects. After completion you can start the second year of the Master finance and Control and earn a Master’s degree. This is an ideal programme if a full two-year master course seems daunting.

Your background

You have already completed a financial-economic education at bachelor or academic level when you start the post-bachelor Financial Controller program. You also have at least three years of relevant work experience. Of course you have the ambition to develop your skills.

Admission

You have already completed a bachelor education when you start this program. You also have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in finance. This post-Bachelor makes it possible to realize your ambitions to take the next step in your career or is a stepping stone to our complete Master of Science Finance & Control.

Do you not exactly meet the admission criteria? If you can demonstrate to have at least five years of relevant professional experience at a higher professional education level and that you have gained substantive knowledge through training or courses, admission may be possible. This is tested during an intake interview.

Costs

The educational costs of this program are € 12.175,00. VAT, literature and subsistence costs not included.

Duration and study load

The post-graduate for financial controller lasts 1 year and consists of approximately 22 contact days. Including lecture hours, the study load will be an average of ten hours per week. It is possible to split up the programme into clusters of Masterclasses or into separate modules.

Lecture days

The lectures are on Monday afternoon and Monday evening, every other week. Consultation meetings will take place in the morning. Here, together with your fellow participants, you will work on cases and assignments, prepare presentations and give feedback on each other’s work. This is all done under the guidance of lecturers and NLBA employees.

Literature

All modules use both Dutch and English literature. The lectures are in Dutch.

Title/diploma

On succesful completion of the post-graduate programme you recieve the Financial Controller diploma. With the diploma, you are exempted from the first-year courses of the Master Finance and Control.

NVAO Accreditation

The masterclasses are NVAO-accredited.
